Our Charities

At St Bernadette's, charity work is a vital expression of our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, and our children play a leading role in these efforts. Guided by the principles of love, compassion, and justice, our pupils actively engage in charitable activities that make a positive impact on both our local community and the wider world.

One of our key fundraising efforts is for Missio, the Pope’s charity for world mission, which supports communities in need across the globe. Through our collective efforts, we have raised significant funds to help Missio provide essential resources, education, and pastoral care to those most in need.

Our community spirit shines during events like the Macmillan Coffee Morning, where we invite grandparents and the entire community to come together in support of cancer care. This event not only raises funds for Macmillan but also strengthens the bonds within our school family.

The children at St Bernadette’s are also creative in coming up with their own in-school fundraising ideas, such as a winter clothes swap and a sports equipment swap. These initiatives reflect their understanding of social responsibility and their desire to help others while promoting sustainability.

Through these activities, our students live out the values of Catholic Social Teaching, learning that charity is not just about giving, but about building a community of care and solidarity.
